Mirena IUD Caused Serious Abdomen Pain in Woman

The intrauterine device was left implanted long after its scheduled removal date, but the woman's doctor dismissed her concerns and blamed her pain on scar tissue.

As a woman and a Virginia medical malpractice lawyer, I shudder to think about how much pain a VA woman must have been in when she went to her doctor four times and asked to have her intrauterine device contraceptive removed.  The IUD was left implanted long after its scheduled removal date, but the woman’s doctor dismissed her concerns and blamed her pain on scar tissue.
